Selling products online that belong to other people on a commission basis is called "Affiliate Marketing". When you apply to an affiliate program you get a special link to advertise a product and it is just for your use.

The "johndoe" part would be where your name is.

And every time you send someone here to buy a product the vendor knows that you are responsible for the sale and they send you your commission. (Normally once a month)

Unfortunately there are some bad internet marketers who try to hijack your sales and get the commission for themselves. This is why you need to use affiliate link protection. It is very important and if you don't use it you will lose money.
